Being engaged and planning a wedding can be one of the most wonderful times of your life, but there is also a side of things that no one talks about. We aren’t here to scare you, but we want to bring these hidden topics to the forefront so you can be as prepared as possible for your big day!
It doesn’t have to be expensive
In today’s society, there is so much pressure to “go over the top.” There is so much pressure to have the “perfect” day and to “wow” your guests. Well, we are here to tell you that this is unnecessary pressure! Take those thoughts and throw them out because it is only going to add stress that doesn’t need to be there. Remember to follow your vision, what makes you happy, and that you don’t have to break the bank to have a beautiful wedding!
You will have your moments
Crying is inevitable when it comes to planning a wedding whether they are sad tears or happy tears. There will be certain things that test you and there will be things that make you smile really big. The best way to prepare yourself for this throughout wedding planning is to be aware of it. Know that this is going to happen, but you are allowed to have your moments!
Tip: A great way to reduce stress and help combat these moments is to hire a wedding planner. This will take the stress off of your shoulders and assure that you have more time and energy for yourself!
Everyone Will Have Their Opinion
We will be the first to tell you that you can’t please everyone. While planning your wedding, stick to your vision, what makes you happy, and the details you want. After all, this is you and your partner’s wedding and everyone else is a guest. We agree that everyone should be able to have a good time, but that doesn’t mean you should sacrifice details that make you happy.
Time Goes Faster Than You Think
We always tell our brides to start planning as soon as possible. Even if you plan on being engaged a couple of years, the more you plan now, the less you’ll have to plan closer to your wedding date. Since you’re so busy with wedding plans, things will really take off and time slips through your fingers! However, the sooner you have everything planned out, the better the flow of wedding planning will be.
Unexpected Expenses will Pop Up
Even with planning, be prepared for bumps in the road. Whether it’s additional costs on the alteration of your dress to paying for an extra guest here or there, make sure there is flexibility in your budget. If you have a wedding planner, they will be able to help you with this and give you advice on certain vendors, venues, and other wedding details.
